Yay, the Knicks have Phil Jackson and beat the rival(?) Indiana Pacers Wednesday night . Still 3 games outside of the playoff hunt, the Knicks look to pick up their eight win in as many games against a historically bad Sixers team.
Last time these two team faced off, it was a high-scoring affair that saw Tim Hardaway Jr. light up MSG.
The Sixers still haven’t won a game since trading Evan Turner and “look to avoid” their 23 straight loss.
76ers Projected // vs Knicks Suggested
PG – Carter-Williams // Felton
SG – Wroten// Shumpert !
SF – Anders // Anthony
PF – Young //Stoudemire
C – Sims //Chandler
! – Iman Shumpert has struggled in the month of March (5.6 pts, 37% FG in 24.7min) and I’d like to see him get back in rhythm against a mediocre defense. If nothing else, his defensive instincts should shine and give him a confidence boost.
Keys to the Game:
Pat the STAT – Amare Stoudemire’s been killin it during the win streak, scoring 18.0 per game (11.1 ppg season average) as a starter in seven of the past eight.
Let Em’ Shoot– The 76er’s defense is dead last in opponent’s points per games, so expect another 100+ point output from the Knicks . On the other end, the 76ers are dead last in 3pt percentage (30.9%) so Knicks should pack the paint and let MCW and the rest of Philly’s backcourt to shoot from deep.
PHI 89 – NYK 101
The Knicks played some though defense Wednesday (held Indy to 86); expect them to keep it up tonight. The Sixers want to win, but not as the much as the Knicks need to. Expect another big game from Amare, who averaged 21.4 points on 73.7 percent shooting (42 for 57) in his last five games vs Philly.
instead of the usual links, thought I’d share a YouTube video of what Knicks looked like before the streak.
